Terrible Times in the Last Days
2 Timothy 3:1-9
(1) You can be sure of this: There will be terrible and dangerous days in the end times. (2) People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, and proud. They will be abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, (3) without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, hating good, (4) treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God and what is good. (5) They will have an outward appearance of religion but deny its power. Avoid them! Have nothing to do with them. (6) These people deceitfully enter into homes and capture morallyweak women who are burdened down with sins, seduced by all kinds of evil desires, (7) and who are always learning but never believe the truth. (8) These people oppose the truth as Jannes and Jambres—the magicians in Pharaoh’s court—opposed Moses. They are not worthy of the faith because their thinking is helplessly corrupt. (9) They will not succeed because their foolishness will be clear to everyone.
The Bible Is God-Breathed
2 Timothy 3:10-17
(10) Timothy, follow my teaching and my way of living. You know about my purpose in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance, (11) my persecutions and sufferings. You know the persecutions that I experienced in the cities of Pisidian Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra of the Roman province of Galatia, yet the Lord rescued me from them all! (12) Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Jesus Christ will be persecuted (13) because evil people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. (14) But as for you, Timothy, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it (15) and how from childhood you have known God’s Word, which is able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. (16) God’s Word is inspired by God (God-breathed) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and for training in doing what is right (17) so believers of God will be thoroughly prepared for every good work.
